Compliance Manager

About You

The ideal Compliance Manager will be self-motivated with experience navigating regulatory environments in the sports-betting and/or financial trading industries. The Compliance Manager should be a strong leader as they will lead the effort in getting STX up to speed in new jurisdictions. The Compliance Manager should enjoy communication and teamwork as they will be the liaison between the STX management team, engineering, operations, and regulators. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build out the STX compliance team by training capable and motivated officers and analysts.
  • Represent STX in communications with regulators on all compliance related matters.
  • Meet frequently with the rest of the STX management, operations and engineering teams to ensure the platform maintains compliance in each jurisdiction.
  • Review and refine the STX policies and procedures on a periodic basis.
  • Track changes in guidance by regulatory bodies and implement strategy to maintain compliance.
  • Work alongside operations and customer support teams to ensure incidents are resolved in a timely manner and reported to appropriate agencies.
  • Periodically review internal controls to ensure they stay in line with industry standards.
  • Manage the process of getting necessary third party audits on controls and technology requirements.
  • Regularly monitor and review Responsible Gaming policies and ensure every STX employee is trained in understanding the importance of Responsible Gaming upon hire.
  • Review all marketing materials from a compliance perspective.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to create necessary regulatory compliance reports and back office tools to support compliance needs.
  • Obtain and maintain individual licenses in required jurisdictions.

Required Skills:

  • Experience working in sports betting or financial trading industries.
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in a managerial compliance role.
  • Interest in working in a fast paced start-up environment with tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter who needs minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eagerness to build a team and curate a dedicated training program.
  • Ability to communicate complex subjects to a variety of audiences ranging from management to regulatory officers.
  • Ability to multi-task combined with exemplary time management skills.
